Lot: 128 HELLER, YOM TOV LIPMANN. (“The Tosfos Yom-Tov.”) Ma’adanei Melech V’Lechem Chamudoth [novellae to the Ro’sh, Rabbeinu Asher ben Yechiel: Seder Nezikin] First Edition. Double columns. On title, printer’s mark of hands extended in priestly benediction while the crown of priesthood hovers above - symbol of Katz Family of printers (see Yaari, Hebrew Printers’ Marks no. 53). Some marginalia. ff. 58 (i.e. 60), (2); 8, (10). Trimmed, trace wormed, foxed, title-page laid down, following three leaves with marginal repairs. Modern calf. Folio. Vinograd, Prague 279.

-Rare. Composed in two sections, the first subtitled Pilpula Charifta and the second Kitzur Piskei HaRo’sh. In his introduction, Yom Tov Lipmann Heller (1579-1654) offers a detailed analysis of his method of research, recording that he obtained an old manuscript of the Kitzur Piskei Harosh and maintains that this manuscript was written by the author himself.
